[game post] A Gothic Winter Tale

Okay so here's what I have. Four categories of pups.

Please click through and comment with your AIM Screenname, your pup's name and journal name, as well as your availability and your preference for a plotlocked EP in the bar or an OOM, and if you'd like it to be hosted here or in your pup's LJ.

The Nommed:
Your pup will meet V somewhere in the corridors of Milliways, perhaps in the library. They will be enthralled, fed upon, memory wiped. They will wake up some place safe with a wrist wound or the classic neck wound. As part of the plot, this encounter will end up with your pup EP'ing in the bar with a link to the OOM (hosted either here or in your pup's journal, your choice) and a chance for others in the bar to notice your pup's condition.

The Near-Nommed: Your pup will have a creepy encounter with a gentleman of Eastern European descent, perhaps in the halls, library or by the lake side. This could happen in a plot-locked EP or in OOM, again with a link posted in the bar.

The Non-Nommed: Immortals or other non-baseline humans that wanted to meet the Prince outside the bar.

The Investigators: Your pups will be interviewing the other pups regarding their interactions. How this plot unfolds depends on you. I don't want to rush it. Rather, I would like this to play out through the New Year, lending a little creepiness to the long cold winter nights.

I have no idea what the endgame looks like. I don't mind a pitchfork-and-torches welcoming crew, but please remember, my ultimate goal is to have him as regular in the bar, perhaps just better briefed on the rules.

I am open to any and all suggestions. This is my first plot, and I'd like it to be a good one.

I know this is, oh, six weeks later, but is it too late to have Kendra or Shulkie meet Dracula? I didn't even find out about this plot until today - but then, I've been absent, as you know. I know you've got a gigantic amount of sign ups, so if it's too much, no problem, but if you want to, I can foresee near-nommed shenanigans if Dracula meets and tries to nom on Shulkie or Hawkgirl. ♥

(Or just ignore if you're too busy.)

Ah, gotcha. Understood. Well, Kendra actually is a baseline human - she's only gets non-baseline when she puts on her Nth metal wings, belt, and harness.

She has occasionally taken off her wings outside of Milliways - once to wash in the lake after she came back from Tom's zombie-ravaged world because she was covered in gore. So there are ways to easily set up scenarios where she might not have wings. But then again, she goes around armed almost all of the time, unless she de-armed and de-winged for a dip in the lake or was frustrated enough by something to take everything off and go for a long sit on a rock somewhere in Milliways' backyard.

I'm not sure how a thread between Kendra and Vlad would automatically be crack, if you mean crack in the absurd madcap fun sense, but perhaps we have different definitions of 'crack'? She's capable of serious, heavy, and deep threads - look at a lot of her threads with Clark Kent, (http://community.livejournal.com/milliways_bar/19804294.html?thread=842254982#t842254982) for example. (http://community.livejournal.com/milliways_bar/19061853.html?thread=804680285#t804680285)

(I only point this out because Kendra's been absent from the bar, along with me, until last week - and if you're only going by the one thread that we started with Fi and Kendra, you might be under the impression that she doesn't have a brooding, tough, abrasive, angry, and serious-as-the-goddamn-Batman side. Which she does indeed.)

Okay, I'd ask to be included in the Not Nommed Upon But Merely Well Met section, but it looks like that's pretty full. Too bad - this is the best run plot that I've seen at Milliways in forever and you are doing a superb job writing Vlad, and I was motivated to ask. But I understand your reasons.

Just out of curiosity, since you mentioned flustered - he's nomming and nearly-nomming on some people that aren't really baseline or hardly fit medieval mindsets, like Kate - although I guess archery would be familiar to him, but badass female Hawkeye archers aren't flustering him?

(Also, LOL at "pesky capitalism and lack of decorum.")

I have another character that I haven't officially entered into bar yet, although she was accepted months ago: Black Mamba. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Mamba_%28comics%29) She's not exactly evil, but she's definitely no innocent, and she has weird mind control powers all of her own having to do with implanting images into people's subconsciousness and manipulating people into believing that they are in the grasp of a loved one while she does what she wants with them (useful for disabling Stark Tech henchpeople, for example, or Avengers).

Vlad and Black Mamba might have a very interesting dynamic. To all outward appearances she's completely normal (except for the occasional snake she carries around). Until she's fucked with or vice verse.

Anyway. I'll stop pestering you. Laters!

Sorry I took so long to answer this as I wasn't quite sure how to respond.

What would Kendra want out of a gothic horror encounter? Nothing. She wouldn't want one - she's be likely on guard, flummoxed by Vlad's mind control, and angry by the end, be it a near-nommed or not nommed encounter. As the writer of her character, I'd love it to be supremely creepy, but Kendra's essential nature is to fight control of any kind - she hates all that fate and destiny and Old World crap which is why I'm glad when it's thrown her way because then she has to cope with it. Remember, she lived through the Dark and Middle Ages - she'll inherently recognize mannerisms and accents, etc. Still, she'd likely be creeped out by the entire thing, and she'd dutifully go tell Security.

Whereas Mamba would see it as a game, a challenge, and she looks completely normal unless you've got the kind of senses that could see that she taps into another dimension for part of her power. Vlad might also be surprised to find that if he probes her (ahem), she's telepathic and would probe him right back.
